A shoe store just may be the epicenter of Columbus’s hip-hop scene. That helps to explain why Sole Classics is about to celebrate its fifth birthday.
“The owner is cool with just about every hip-hop artist in the city,”
Columbus emcee Le for the Uncool said of the Short North boutique, an
already-popular shop that has been soaring since Dionte Johnson took it
over last year.
Some pretty big names-Wiz Khalifa, GLC, Big Sean and DJ Drama, to
name a few, as well as locals like Le-have done in-store signings and
performances there. And they’ll be back when Sole Classics celebrates
its fifth anniversary this week with a series of events, contests and
collabs with Homage and New Era.
